Hello and welcome to 5th grade! My name is Jacqueline Urban, and I will be your child's teacher for the 2018-2019 school year! I am very excited for the school year to begin. I have been working hard over the past few weeks to ensure everyone has a smooth transition and an exciting year ahead!
I was born and raised in Roxborough and attended our neighborhood elementary and middle schools. I graduated from Gwynedd-Mercy University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education and I am certified in Elementary, Special Education and Early Childhood Education. I began my journey at Green Woods Charter School in 2013 as a substitute teacher. I had so many wonderful experiences here and had the opportunity to work in every classroom in the building. I happily accepted a position the following school year as a 5th grade teacher and I am excited as I prepare for my fourth year as a teacher at Green Woods.
When I'm not teaching, I love being outdoors. Whether its riding my bike, taking a walk with my pup, Cooper, or just doing some gardening, the outdoors make me feel relaxed. I also love to travel and explore. One of the most exciting things I've done was drive across the country and explore all of the beautiful things our country has to offer. What I loved about this experience wasn't just the experience itself, but the fact that I can bring so much knowledge back into the classroom and share it with my students.
I am truly looking forward to meeting each of your children and getting to know not only them, but your family as well. I can't wait for another great year!
